So, last weekend, my cousin, Mark, and I went to Toronto for the weekend. The trip was really just to get away and take pictures somewhere other than Brockville or Kingston, and it worked out well. The weather might have been a bit cold, but we walked around all day Saturday, and a fair portion of Sunday, snapping up as many shots as we could.
We made it do the Distillery District and took shots of the Christmas celebration there, as well as taking the subway up to Casa Loma, to take some snaps both outside and in.
Overall, I think I took nearly one thousand pictures. I learned a lot about the limitations of my camera and my own skills. I ended up having a great time, and uploaded over one hundred shots to my Flickr.
I will say though that I don’t think I’ll eat any kind of ethnic food for quite a while, as I got my fill while in the big city.

how you doing? sounds like you had a good time tin T.O. with Mark. So have you ever thaught about intering a photo competion. well this is a website you can check out. http://www.photographycompetitions.net/contest/eligibility/canada/
I really don’t want to do anything that will taint my experience in photography and change it from something I do for fun to something that I feel I “need” to do or “have” to do to make a living. Photography is about reducing my stress, and so that’s why I haven’t pursued any opportunities to make any money from it.
I appreciate the thought though. I did have fun in TO. 🙂
Hey David…Happy Christmas and Merry New Year or something like that. Hope you find time to relax and enjoy the holidays. Your trip to TO sounds like fun. I LOOOOOVE Casa Loma. I don’t think my trip to TO to return Zander to his apt. after Christmas was as much fun as yours. Turned into a 7 hour marathon due to road conditions…so much for my 1 day off. …sigh. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and all the best in 2012.
PS. You have the greatest eye for taking pictures. Entering them in a competition doesn’t have to be about making money…could just be a way to share them with more people and bask in all the admiration. They are pretty fantastic you know! 🙂
I think Jeremy has an amazing eye for pictures. If you haven’t seen his, ask him for a link to his 500px profile.
Casa Loma was fun, but I’m not much of a history buff. I was just excited because the castle had been in Scott Pilgrim vs the World (a movie my cousin and I really enjoy).
Welcome to Canadian winter. Owen Sound really needs to get a train connection to Toronto or something…
Hope your 2012 goes amazing. Hopefully… I’ll find a way up there at some point (taking a lot longer than I had planned)
