So, I am hoping that in 2012 my work will pay for me to attend some conferences or take some training and I’m trying to come up with ideas. Companies like Learning Tree seem a bit crazy in prices, and the local college doesn’t offer much of use in my current field. I am not up to date on what trade conferences and events are happening, as I haven’t been to one in over two years now.

I am hoping to focus on the following:

• Social Media
• Web Development
• Network Administration
• Project Management
• Leadership

If you know of anything that would fit, please let me know so I can work on getting approvals early on. One criteria would be that it shouldn’t be more than 4 hours flying from Brockville, Ontario. So places like Vegas are out, but places like Detroit, Chicago, and New York are in, but I’m sure my boss would be a lot happier if it was just a train ride to Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal.

It feels weird thinking about 2012…

So where are there plans for WordCamps? What kind of schooling opportunities are available? Any cool conferences coming to Ottawa that I might be interested in? Please let me know.
