Via Preference Points

Today, I spent some preference points, my first time doing so, on train tickets to bring me to Kingston in early July. I love going to the movies, and so I was constantly collecting Scene points and getting to see free movies, but that was ten or fifteen dollars worth. The points I spent today saved me nearly one hundred dollars, and allow me to get to Kingston to visit family and friends for free. I am really excited.

While I am not impressed with Via Rail, and their slow, old fashioned transportation service at a premium price over a bus, I am happy that they have a points system that allows me to slowly earn free trips to visit family in Kingston. Owning a car never earned me free trips, that’s for sure.

Over the next couple of months, I am going to spend a great deal of time on the train, and will potentially earn enough points to go to Kingston again before the end of the year on points alone.
