This past weekend, I also got to go to Barry’s again. It was nice to see him again. Hanging out with him feels like being home with family and I’m not afraid to admit that I was bummed when I had to leave. While there, I got to play another round of Battlefleet Gothic, a table top spaceship combat game, where I lost yet again.
I also got to watch Firefly from start to finish. I had previously seen a smattering of episodes before when it was first aired out of order, but never really got interested in the one season series as a whole. I loved Serenity though, and in a conversation with Barry, he mentioned he had all the episodes and so most of Saturday was spent going through them, and I finished them on Sunday. It was great. I definitely have a new appreciation for Firefly, and while I’m still not a fan of the more “cowboy” style on-planet episodes and segments, the show definitely deserved more time to explore its universe. I also now understand why people are “brown coats” beyond just meaning that they are fans of Firefly.
