So last night, I was invited over to Andrea’s place. Andrea has been my “Walkerton mom” and close friend while I’ve been here. Her knowledge of everyone, her connections, and her continuing invitations over to her place to share in her family’s experiences has been a huge saving grace while I’ve been isolated from everyone I know. Her sons and daughters have been really nice to me, and her youngest has almost treated me the same as his own siblings. It has made for many weekends of entertainment, and a great feeling of belonging. I can see why everyone in the neighborhood comes over to Andrea’s.

Supper last night was an amazing hamburger and potatoes meal, followed by the movie Heart and Souls (1993) on VHS. It was a great night, and a nice way to say goodbye to her family. I only wish I could have repaid her for all the kindness she showed me, and all the help her and her family gave to me. I’m going to miss it here so much!
