So, I was talking to my cousin today, and he is getting ready to upgrade his computer. I use the term upgrade loosely as he is pretty much replacing most of the main components, and it will pretty much be a brand new computer.
It got me thinking about what I would buy if I could buy a new computer today, and didn’t have to worry too much about any sort of budget (but I didn’t go too crazy!).
I currently think I have a pretty kick butt computer, and so I am in no rush to buy another one, but here’s what I came up with.

By the time I will most likely buy it, some of those parts won’t exist, but it will probably cost around $1500, and for me, that’s the most I am willing to pay at any one time for a new computer.

I do have to admit I love my computer. I have a quad core i7 with 8 gigs of ram, I have two ATI 4870 HD (1gig) crossfired, a G110 keyboard, two philips 230E (HD) monitors, and the rest of the specs I forget because I am just not that tech savvy. Plus I have my acer laptop that is just amazing (and it plays video games pretty well, even though I try not to use it for that since I have the kick ass computer).
That being said, I’d love to look into getting a gaming mouse, right now I use a logitech optical trackball that I adore, but there’s always room for improvement!
I just have an i7 920, 6GB Ram, GeForce 7800, 1x 22″ monitor, a normal Logitech keyboard, and a wireless Logitech mouse. :$ Nothing too crazy, and definitely not a “hardcore gamer” setup.
I was wrong on the video card. I have a 9600 GSO 512mb card. 🙂
