The Great Gatsby

So last night, Annie and I went to see The Great Gatsby. I have to admit, I wasn’t too excited about the prospect of seeing this movie, and the last one I wasn’t excited about, Les Miserables, turned out to be worse than I thought it to be.

The good news is that this wasn’t one of those experiences. While the movie was very stylized, and I still don’t like Tobey Maguire as an actor, I still enjoyed myself immensely.

Leonardo DiCaprio did an amazing job in his performance. Say what you want about him, but you can’t deny he has some serious acting chops and if it wasn’t for his portrayal of Gatsby, I don’t think I would have enjoyed the movie as much.

The set design, and costumes were also brilliant. Annie and I discussed the movie almost the entire way home from the theatres as it had us both excited.

You don’t need to see The Great Gatsby in the theatres, but at some point, you should probably check it out, as there is something in it for everyone. I give The Great Gatsby a four out of five.

  1. I am so glad you enjoyed this movie! Chatting with you about it on the way home just might have been my favourite part.
