Green Lantern Movie Review

So, while I was really excited about the Green Lantern live action movie, I had seen some reviews that were less than positive. I adjusted my expectations and warned my cousin before entering the theatre to adjust his as well.

I had recently seen the DC animated, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, and I was less than impressed.

Watching the Green Lantern movie wasn’t as bad as I had thought, nor as great as I had hoped. At the end of the movie, I felt like I had watched a very average movie, and one that I expect to see heavily discounted soon after release on DVD. While it doesn’t belong with movies like Elektra and Daredevil, it does come close. The special effects, the story, and more are all average.

Hopefully, DC can get its act together soon and release a movie that both excites and entertains me. I rate the movie 2.5/5, or sadly middle of the road. It is worth seeing on the big screen because the special effects, but just barely due to the fact that it is all CGI and there aren’t many exciting moments.

Side note: Origin story movies kind of suck, but I understand why they have to water down things to try to serve the masses.
