Earthquake

Today, there was an earthquake in Quebec, and I was able to feel it all the way here in Walkerton. At first, I assumed it was just me, and then my co-worker looked at me and was like “do you feel that?”

I thought the slight trembles must have been coming from something outside, and much to my surprise, there was nothing near the building that could cause such strong vibrations. I then checked on Twitter, and the stream was alive with reports of the earthquake.

It was exciting to feel the Earth move with such force, but I can only imagine how terrifying it would be to be closer to the epicenter where it registered as high as 5.5 on the Richter scale.

The most surprising thing to me was that people could feel it from Detroit through Montreal. That is a huge distance for those seismic waves to cover.

In my apartment they were NOT FUN. At all. Never been so scared before. Things fell off the wall and .. yeah. scary. Kitty also did not like it. Schools were evacuated, folks are off work.
