There are only a few things that I really hate doing, and here’s the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
- Washing Dishes – I have no problem putting away dishes, but I hate washing them by hand.
- Driving – I’ve previously discussed this, see Driving and Green Ideals.
- Laundry at a Laundromat – Organizing the clothing, supplies, and change. Bringing it to the laundromat, and waiting there until it is done is one of my least favourite activities, and feels like a big waste of time.
- Tests – I get really bad text anxiety, even if I know all of the answers, and no matter the type of test.
- Paperwork – Filling out paperwork, and submitting it is my biggest Achilles heel. Can’t they just make a digital fillable PDF?
- Phones – I hate phoning people. I don’t like being on the phone. I prefer either face to face conversations or well thought out communications via e-mail. I’ve just always been this way.
Some of those will probably seem weird to people, but I never said I wasn’t weird…

I hate the phone too. People look at me like I’m growing two heads, but I just don’t like to talk on them. I think it’s because I’m typically multi tasking, and if I’m on the phone that’s harder to do. Or something.
I don’t think it effects my multitasking, though Sabine used to get annoyed when she could hear me typing while on the phone. I just don’t enjoy the experience of being on the phone. I don’t know what specifically it is about them, and it doesn’t matter if it is a home phone, cell phone, or work phone. And the hatred goes back beyond when I was a call center employee.
I hate dishes too – because our dishwasher has been broken for the last 8 years – but I don’t mind the phone. The reason I don’t mind the phone is because it doesn’t clutter uup my email inbox. Yeah, it can be a time suck, but it’s better than than dealing with a lot of back and forth emails.
I’m not big on paperwork either. Talking on the phone is an odd one; I will chat with my dad or sister for over an hour, but beyond that, I really dislike talking on the phone too.
